BUENA S. BOND SCHOLARSHIP
The Buena S. Bond Scholarship, through the Kentucky Feed & Grain Association, awards one scholarship annually to a high school senior. This one time award for $1,000.00 is awarded to an incoming college freshman planning to major in agriculture or an agriculturally related subject at a Kentucky college or other Kentucky institute of higher education. All applications will be considered. Bonus points can be awarded during judging to any applicant who is a family member of a member in good standing of the Kentucky Feed & Grain Association.
APPLICATION DUE DATE AND PRESENTATION
Scholarship applications are due March 31, 2011 at the Kentucky Feed & Grain Association office. The winner will be notified by May 15th, 2011 and will be invited with his/her parent(s)/legal guardian(s) to attend the KYFGA’s Annual Summer Meeting in July (optional), where the winner is presented the scholarship award.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible:
- Applicant must be a graduate from high school in the year of application.
- Applicant must be accepted for Fall 2011 enrollment in a Kentucky college or other Kentucky institute of higher education and show proof of same (Acceptance Letter).
- Applicant must be planning to major in Agriculture or an agriculturally related subject.
- Applicant need not be a member of any Association member's family to be eligible (bonus points may be awarded to any applicant who is a family member of a member in good standing of the Kentucky Feed & Grain Association.
- Applicant may elect (not required) to attend the KYFGA’s Annual Summer Meeting held in July, where a presentation of the scholarship will be performed before the Board of Directors and members in attendance.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Complete the attached application form.
- Submit copy of your official high school transcript.
- Submit copy of Acceptance Letter and/or Proof of Enrollment from a Kentucky College or other Kentucky institute of higher education.
- Submit copies of letter(s) of recommendation from one or more of the following:
- County 4-H or Agriculture agent
- FFA advisor or other high school teacher
Return the form along with the above mentioned requirements to the KYFGA office by March 31, 2011.
